Ep.9/ BUSINESS AS MISSION
What is the role of business in the Kingdom? How do Christians engage the business world and leverage resources for the Great Commission?
LISTEN NOW
In the penultimate episode before a short mid-season break, Aaron and Jon sit down with Nicholas Lombardi, founding pastor of [The Grace Collective], co-founder of Coalescence Coffee Company, and Vice President of Programs and Operations at International Cooperating Ministries (ICM) in Hampton, VA. The topic is lofty but practical, just as the name suggests: Business as Mission. But first, we have to set the stage; our van not down by the river in India has transformed into a barely-running car for sale in the warehouse district of Newark, NJ, where Nic learns some important realities of trading worldly ambitions for life as a follower of Jesus.
Through his story, as well as those of our hosts and [Multiply] itself, we invite you to consider the founding of strong, practical businesses that create platforms and gathering spaces for new missionaries, or disciples, to immerse in the culture of a community, city, region, or people group. Through their commitment to a Christ-like approach to ministry and the global perspective of traveling to quite a few remote destinations, Aaron, Jon, and Nic were each in their own way able to ask “Why not here?” and “Why not us?” as catalysts to determine how to use their knowledge of missions to be on MISSION. Journey with us through the Bible, across the world, and learn how there are glimpses of Eden everywhere if we are just courageous enough to look.
Let the Word dwell richly in you and may God multiply your efforts for the Kingdom.
